Management change at Medela: Daniel Frutig takes over CEO function from Renate Schreiber

The globally successful medical technology company Medela, headquartered in Baar (Canton of Zug), is to have new leadership. The Board of Directors has reached an agreement with current CEO Renate Schreiber on the change in the management structure and has selected Daniel Frutig as the new CEO. Daniel Frutig, an experienced manager, is charged with the task of intensifying cross-border and cross-functional cooperation within the Medela Group, as well as ensuring long-term growth and success.

Daniel Frutig takes over from Renate Schreiber on 3 March 2015. The owner and Board of Directors would like to offer their sincere thanks to Renate Schreiber on behalf of Medela as a whole for her many years of committed and effective work. Thanks to her overarching experience and high commitment, Renate Schreiber has made a substantial contribution to the company’s success in the past years.

Thanks to its innovative products, Medela is growing at a rapid pace. The outlook is positive, with many more opportunities to gain new customers and break into additional markets. As Chairman of the Board of Directors, Michael Larsson, stresses, "Medela's transition into an international group is very exciting. At the same time, it places new demands on the organization and management. Our structures and processes have not developed in line with our business results."

Under the leitmotif ‘One Medela’, the Board of Directors wants to promote cooperation and the exchange of information in the company. The strong values of the personally committed founding family provide the guidelines in this regard. The selection of the internationally experienced and successful manager Daniel Frutig sends out an important signal.

The new CEO Daniel Frutig has extensive experience in the management of private and listed international companies. As CEO, Managing Director and Member of the Board of Directors, Daniel Frutig has made key changes in various domestic and international companies to secure long-term growth and success. He is well acquainted with the issues encountered by companies such as Medela when tackling the next phases of growth.
